CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support

This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Assessments will be conducted in a variety of formats which can include written questions and answers, projects, simulations, demonstrations, and work placements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed study of Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Proof of English language proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
  • Have completed the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support or at minimum the following unit of competency
    • HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems
    • CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
    • HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
    • CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people
    • HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care
    • CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs
    • CHCCCS023 Support independence and wellbeing
  • Full vaccination record as per the guidelines of NSW Health for students going into placement in hospital or aged care facilities.
  • A Police Check
  • Additional evidence that work placement providers may require

Course Structure

Students who only complete some units will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment for units successfully completed.
